Overview
Your hike begins at Marangu Gate of the Kilimanjaro National Park. The Marangu Route is the most popular and easiest way to the Uhuru Peak. This route is also called the tourist route or the Coca-Cola route – climbers choose this route because most of the route is pleasant and less steep. The entrance gate is located at an altitude of about 1,800 metres. Until the Mandara Hut (at almost 2,700 m) it is more or less an idyllic walk with a pleasant ascent through dense mountain rainforest. In between you can enjoy a picnic. This path is considered one of the most beautiful in the rainforest area of Kili, as the mountain is called for short. This day trip is led by a professional Kilimanjaro guide. On the approx. 4 to 5 hours long ascent you will experience an untouched jungle with unique flora and fauna.
