Overview
The 6-day Marangu Route, affectionately known as the “Coca-Cola” route, offers a timeless adventure on Mount Kilimanjaro. As the oldest and most established path, it boasts a gentle gradient, making it widely regarded as the easiest ascent on the mountain. Notably, it’s the only route that provides dormitory-style sleeping huts. While the minimum duration for this route is five days, the likelihood of reaching the summit within that timeframe is relatively low. Therefore, an additional acclimatization day is strongly recommended.
Despite its popularity, we choose not to guide climbs on the Marangu route. Its lack of scenic diversity, resulting from using the same path for both ascent and descent, combined with high congestion, diminishes its allure. However, during the rainy season, Marangu remains a preferred choice due to the appeal of hut accommodations
